Marshall's Pen Estate dates back some 200years and is situated near Mandeville, more or less in the centre of the island. This 300 acre private nature reserve and cattle farm is the home of Ann Sutton, an ecologist, who has been working to conserve Jamaican biodiversity, especially birds for many years. Nearly 100 bird species have been recorded here and of the 27 species endemic to Jamaica, all but two are found in the Marshall's Pen area. The house itself has several comfortable bedrooms, some with private bathrooms and the living and dining rooms are charming and full of antiques. |
