This is an amazing opportunity to bird on five of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean and to find the endemics and rare birds on each one. If you would like to add extra days on to any island, this could be easily arranged. This tour could also be extended to include St Vincent, Grenada, Barbados and the French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique, each of which has their own endemics or even combined with the Trinidad & Tobago Birdwatching Tour.
Day 1
Fly to Antigua on British Airways for 3 nights.

Day 2
On your first full day on Antigua, the pace will be fairly gentle with time to acclimatise. There will be an introductory guided trip of roughly 4 hour duration to the saltpans, forests and a series of lagoons, which hold some exciting birds. The most notable is the rare West Indian Whistling Duck.
Day 3
Today you will take a short early morning flight to Barbuda, which is only 20 miles to the north of Antigua. The main bird of interest here is the Barbuda Warbler, which is only found on this island and is quite common and easy to observe. You will also be taken by boat to the largest Frigate Bird sanctuary in the western hemisphere. The flight back to Antigua is in the evening, so this is a long day and there is ample opportunity to have a leisurely lunch of fresh-caught fish on a deserted white sand beach, to visit some very interesting caves and to see some widespread Lesser Antillean birds.
Day 4
A morning flight to Montserrat, a small volcanic island a short distance away. ‘Scriber’ our local birding guide will take you on a hike to find the endemic Montserrat Oriole. Other birds you might see on this trip include some Lesser Antilles endemics, such as the Forest Thrush, Purple-throated Carib and the Northern Brown Trembler. There will also be time for general sightseeing including a visit to the Volcano Observatory.
Days 5-6-7
An early morning flight via Antigua, to Dominica for 3 nights.
Dominica is genuinely the Nature Isle of Caribbean having large tracts of native forests. There is a rich variety of natural life both above and below water. There will be two trips here to look for the birds of note including the Red-necked Parrot (Jaco), which is quite easy to see in the pristine forests. The Imperial Parrot (Sisserou), the island’s other endemic, is much less numerous and you may have to be patient to observe this beautiful and impressive parrot. We have allowed ample time for the pursuit. There are several wonderful trails in the forests with many waterfalls and fantastic trees and a rich variety of birds can be readily spotted. We have also included an afternoon whale-watching trip to see the resident sperm whales and other marine mammals.
Days 8-9-10
A morning departure from Dominica to St Lucia for 3 nights.
There are 7 St Lucia endemics, as well as several other Lesser Antillean endemics to be found here. Much of the time will be spent in the Edmund Forest Reserve in the south central area of the island, to look for 5 of the St. Lucia endemics: St Lucia Parrot, St. Lucia Peewee, St Lucia Warbler, St Lucia Black Finch and the St Lucia Oriole. At dusk the search will be for the sixth endemic, the St Lucia Nightjar. The remaining endemic, the St Lucia Wren, is hard to find but you will hopefully also find this during your stay.
Day 11
After spending a last leisurely day on St Lucia you will take the evening BA flight back to the UK.
Day 12
Arrive in London early in the morning.
