No visas are required for UK, US, Canada or European passport holders but your passport must be valid for 6 months.
Although not compulsory, it is advisable to make sure that your inoculations, particularly tetanus is up to date. No treatment is required to prevent malaria, but mosquitoes can carry dengue fever and other diseases, so it is advisable to use insect repellent as a precaution. Always consult your own doctor’s surgery for up to the minute advice.
The official currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar, which is tied to the US dollar and the rate against the Pound Sterling fluctuates accordingly. At the moment the exchange rate is approximately TT $4.00 to the Pound. US dollars are also widely accepted.
The dry season is usually from December to May and the rainy season from June to November, although there are usually lots of sunny days even at this time. Temperatures are nearly constant all year round averaging 29C/84F during the day and 23C/74F at night.
There are direct flights with BA and Virgin from London Gatwick twice a week.
