Peru is a huge country and is bordered by Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia and Chile. As well as being the centre of the Spanish empire in South America, Peru was also the centre of the Inca world. The main tourist sites in Peru include Machu Picchu, the Nazca Lines, Lake Titicaca and El Misti Volcano. It is not as developed as some South American countries but has good tourist infrastructure and services. Peru is highly rich in wildlife diversity with a third of the World’s bird species, as well as a large variety of mammals. The cuisine in Peru is also very excellent and varied due to immigration into the country over the years.
