The suggested sample itinerary provides the perfect opportunity to see the best that Trinidad & Tobago has to offer including the finest birdwatching, giant leatherback turtles in season and the most gorgeous tropical plants and scenery. Day 1
Fly to Tobago. Transfer to The Blue Waters Inn for 7 nights.

Day 2
Free to relax and unwind on the beach, to go snorkelling, diving or explore the beautiful surroundings and nature trails.

Day 3
Today you will depart by glass-bottom boat to Little Tobago Bird Sanctuary. On the way you will cross the pristine coral reefs and there will be a chance to see the largest Brain Coral recorded in the Western Hemisphere, as well as snorkel at Angel Reef. On landing and depending on the time of year, you will explore the island looking for exotic sea birds and perhaps nesting colonies of Red-Billed Tropicbird, Red-footed and Brown Boobies, Terns, Magnificent Frigatebird and Audubon’s Shearwater.

Day 4
Free Day.

Day 5
The first of three excursions with your guide in Tobago, Newton George, who will take you on a full day touring right around the island. This might find you exploring the Ponds at Bon Accord, Bucoo Marsh, Grafton Bird Sanctuary or the mangroves at Plantations. You will surely see most of Tobago’s special birds and lunch on the beach is also included.

Day 6
This morning you will take a walk into the Tobago Forest Reserve, which was established in 1765 and is the oldest protected forest in the Western Hemisphere. It  is a haven for some 210 of Tobago’s most colourful bird species. Along the Gilpin Trace it is possible to see Blue-crowned MotMot, Blue Backed Manakin, White tailed Sabrewing Hummingbird and many others. Butterflies, Trap-door Spiders, Fruit-eating Bats, Lizards, Snakes and endemic trees make up part of the biodiversity of the rain forest here.

Day 7
Free day.

Day 8
A short flight to Trinidad and transfer to the world famous Asa Wright Nature Centre for 5 nights.

Day 9
Free day to enjoy the estate, beginning with a guided tour of the various trails traversing this rich and diverse wildlife sanctuary. Later on you may explore the trails on your own, take a dip in a refreshing natural pool or simply enjoy watching the birds from the magnificent verandah.a guided tour of some of the trails traversing this rich and diverse wildlife sanctuary and enjoy the birding from the verandah, which is one of the worlds most pleasant and exciting ornithological experiences.

Day 10
A full day excursion to Nariva on the Atlantic East Coast. You may visit the wetlands, marshes and swamp forests by boat or kayak. This is home to more than 200 species of birds as well as a variety of small mammals including anteaters, porcupines, monkeys, the endangered ocelot and manatee.

Day 11
Trip to Caroni Bird Sanctuary, an extensive area of mangrove swamp and lagoon where you will take an evening boat tour to see the breathtaking sight of flocks of stunning Scarlet Ibis returning to their roosting areas.

Day 12
A morning visit to Dunston Cave to see the most accessible colony of Oilbirds in the world.

Day 13
Transfer to Grande Riviere for 2 nights at either Mt.Plaisir Estate Hotel or the more comfortable Anise Hotel & Spa. The beautiful beach here is the largest nesting site for Leatherback turtles in the Western Hemisphere and a wonderful area for birdwatching.

Day 14
Free day to enjoy the beach, river and surrounding area.

Day 15
Transfer to airport for short flight to Tobago, check in for UK flight and then enjoy the afternoon in Tobago before flying home in the evening.

Day 16
Arrive in UK in early morning.
